Return of the Beast from the East — 2021

Every few years a remake is made and in 2021 it’s back!! The Beast from the East returns on Sunday 7th February at an Eastern view near you. How will it play out? Will the leading characters turn up? What will the audience make of it? Will it be a damp squib? Time will tell…

Ok, enough of the melodramatics the Beast from the East is back this weekend (07/02/2021). I will be documenting each day as I did in 2018, this was the last time we had the Beast from the East. But this one could have even more snow than previous instalments. There is a low-pressure system nearby, coming up from Spain called Storm Darcy. Laden with lots of moisture it meets a front coming down from the north which will bring cold air. Any precipitation that falls will be snow after about 3 am on the 7th.

Best way to see if it's going to snow is to look at the radar which shows realtime (15-minute delay) on Raintoday.

Day 1: 7th February

Storm Darcy swings a weather front up across the SE of the UK with snow spreading from the east it got as far as west London. It has been snowing off and on all day with light to moderate snowfall.
